Twitter is now X. Elon Musk plan is getting closer

Elon Musk Renames Twitter to X: His Superapp Plan

Last July 24, Twitter left behind its iconic blue bird and became X. Elon Musk has explained that this is more than just a name change, as this move represents his plans to create an everything app.

Goodbye Twitter, Hello X

Twitter, the famous social network known for its iconic blue bird like logo, has undergone a radical makeover thanks to the innovative mind of Elon Musk. The billionaire acquired the domain “X.com” in 2007 and has finally found the perfect use for this purchase. On July 24, Musk officially replaced Twitter’s iconic blue bird with the letter “X,” marking the beginning of a new era for the platform. According to Musk, this change goes beyond a simple rebranding, representing his vision of turning Twitter into a WeChat-style super app.

“The Twitter name made sense when it was just 140 character messages going back and forth – like birds tweeting – but now you can post almost anything, including several hours of video. In the months to come, we will add comprehensive communications and the ability to conduct your entire financial world. The Twitter name does not make sense in that context, so we must bid adieu to the bird. Musk said.

The X Revolution: Is This the End of Twitter as We Know It?

The rebranding has generated a variety of reactions among Twitter users, which is one of the most popular social networks in recent years, with more than 368 million monthly active users worldwide as of December 2022.

The community of Twitter users was used to the presence of the blue bird during all this time, and beyond that, Twitter has left terms such as “tweeting” or ” tweet” among us. Without a doubt, the disappearance of these elements has caused a stir among users, and a large part of them have expressed their dissatisfaction with this change, qualifying it in general as an unwise decision.

For some users, this rebranding is qualified as “the dumbest decision ever taken”, while many others focus on criticizing the design of the new logo, affirming that far from being characteristic and with identity, is much simpler and even confusing.

Elon Musk’s Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence, Jobs, and the Future

With Elon Musk being very invested in the future of technology, we thought it would be interesting to finish this article on his vision for the future of tech jobs. In a recent Skedler article we commented that, with advances in artificial intelligence, one of the main questions is whether AI will replace humans in the workplace. Our conclusion is that artificial intelligence is a great help for many professionals but that the human workforce will still be needed.

What is Elon Musk’s opinion on this? In this interesting interview with CNBC’s David Faber, Elon was certainly concerned about the future careers of his eight children if they have to compete with artificial intelligence. He even found it difficult to answer the question of how the next generation will find value in a world where AI can do everything. “This question is a tough question to answer,” Musk said.
